SUKH SAGAR, CHOWPATTY
Totally contrary to what the name suggests, this place gave me too much “dukh” the last time I visited it. And it was a rude shock from a place like Sukh Sagar which is known to almost all the Mumbaikars. And just so that we don’t miss a point here , we have visited this place n number of times and we have never been let down ever; no matter what food we have had : pav bhaji, Chinese , south indian or north indian. And if I mention the dishes we had ordered it might shock you as well.
We started with something very basic and frequently ordered, Chilli Paneer. The first bite was so savory we couldn’t stop talking about it for 2-5 minutes but as soon as we had our second bite our faces were like “ what are we eating” ? The paneer tasted disgusting and stale. So apparently what they did was topped the dish with 2-3 pieces of fresh paneer and used their stale paneer for the rest of it. Overlooking this disappointment we ordered Vegetable Monchow Noodles because the description said it has fresh vegetables and tangy sauces. And these noodles were actually hakka noodles with slices of tomatoes and peas. (Like seriously??) Who puts tomatoes and peas in Chinese? And after these 2 major disappointments we decided not to order anything else and just make our move but not before letting the staff know about this disaster. Guess what was their reply?? “Ma’am paneer jyada fry ho gaya hoga.” Whereas the paneer wasn’t actually fried at all!!!!!! Saying  no more we just paid the bill and left and decided let us have juice at the adjacent juice outlet of Sukh Sagar.
We reached Sukh Sagar Juice. We ordered for fresh fruit juices because we had no appetite left to experiment anything new and so decided to stick to regular option of Watermelon and Cocktail. Disappointment again…..the fruits were so stale we could actually smell that rotten thing and once again when we brought it to the notice of the staff they just rudely dismissed us saying “abhi abhi kata hai”
So, all we can say is Sukh Sagar which once used to be a gem of a place is going down the drain with bad food and all the more worst staff who can barely talk to the customers with some respect.

We have some photos to go with of the food and no photos of the juices because they weren’t worth making so many efforts.

CIRCUIT SANDWICH CENTRE, BORIVALI WEST.
As the name suggests this place is really cool with awesome sandwiches provided you are ready to overlook the ambience of the place. A favorite hangout spot during navratri post the garba-playing this place is quite famous in Borivali.
Circuit Sandwich House is one of the sandwich joints which provide you with a variety of sandwiches within a reasonable price. We went there in the evening to review the place deciding 1-2 sandwiches will be more than enough but we were wrong. Absolutely wrong!! Here goes the list of all that we ate. We started with the Mumbai masala toast, a typical Mumbai sandwich you can manage to find at every sandwich store: big or small. And it was delicious, a perfect blend of spices with the right amount of vegetables to make you feel the crunch. We had a wonderful time eating it and the sandwich disappeared in less than 5 minutes. The next on the list was Open Cheese Chilly. By the green looks of it we were afraid it will be too spicy but it wasn’t. Like its name, you could feel the taste of green chillies without getting your mouth burnt due to the spices. Two sandwiches which were spicy made us feel good and encouraged us to try something on the creamy side for the sake of adding a variety and we next ordered Mayonnaise Cheese Grill Sandwich which was loaded with the right amount of mayonnaise and balanced by the vegetables. Every bite was savory and we actually forgot this was our third sandwich within a span of 15 minutes. After getting done with this we ordered a Delhi Darbar Sada because apparently we just couldn’t stop eating. And this was the ultimate cherry on top of our sandwich mania. This sandwich you can say literally bathes in mayonnaise. The veggies: cabbage, capsicum and onion were mixed with mayonnaise and spread on the bread and the bread on top had mayonnaise topping as well. And every bite made us feel we were actually consuming dollops of mayo. And the best part was you did not require chutney with the sandwich except ofcourse you don't want to have it any other way.
All in all we had a tasty-cum-spicy-cum-creamy sandwich day which makes us want to go visit it every day. Enough said it seems just scroll down for visual foodgasms and head out immediately to try this insanely devil food!!!!
P.S.: I speak very fondly of sandwiches because that is one of the favorites which can be had even after a heavy 4-course meal.

JAMJAR DINER, VERSOVA, ANDHERI WEST
We are here with our review again. This time we ventured towards Andheri and found this cosy little restaurant Jamjar Diner. Talking about this place let us first see the ambience which according to us was pretty cosy and quite giving a certain sense of tranquility but nothing extraordinary to report. The terrace area opens only after 5 in the evening which was a little disappointing and the crowd can sometimes annoy you with the loud chatter on the table right next to you. But the food dear friends pretty makes up for all the other disappointments.

Coming to food we started with a Long Island Ice Tea and a Fruity Daiquiry which was decent enough but not all that good. We also had ordered JJ’s Chilli Cheese Toast which made the cheddar melt in your mouth as soon as you popped it in so no complaints there. Next on the menu was BBQ Veggie Burger and a Basil Pesto Sandwich ; the burger tasted wonderful with every bite. We could feel the smokey flavor with every mouthful. The sandwich on the contrary smelled amazing but had to be eaten with ample amount of tomato ketchup to enjoy its taste. The best part of the meal was the desert. Going by the zomato reviews we opted for the Flower Pot Surprise and we were glad we did. A 4-layered masterpiece it consists of marshmallows, gooey brownie, vanilla ice cream and is dusted with huge amounts of oreo soil. Every spoonful transports you to a la-la-land with your tastebuds singing and having a time of their lives.

So the ambience was good enough , the food almost touching excellent but one major complaint is about the service. There is only one server for around 6 tables 3 of which are 5-6 sitters. I had a tough time grabbing his attention even for a refill of water which is a major turn off. Other than that the experience was a good one and we would like to visit it someday again when we want to do nothing but enjoy the peace and quiet of the restaurant.

I know I don’t need to remind but here are the photos !!! Enjoy !!!

RAJESH CORN CORNER
Bonus review people!!! We did promise you of bringing a new review every week but we just can’t have enough of food everywhere we go and that means bonus reviews of street side stalls for you every now and then.
RAJESH CORN CORNER, the name may make you wonder that it’s a regular masala corn stall that we find everywhere these days , but let me assure you dear friends that you are absolutely wrong! This fellow Rajesh amazes you with the variety available in his menu. Firstly, you get all varieties of corn here : American sweet corn, the white corn and babycorn in two styles: boiled or roasted. These corn kernels then go in a disposable bowl and are tossed with a variety of masalas and dressing according to your choice. Yes my dear friends you have a freedom of choosing from 34 varieties of flavors. And for the hygiene conscious eaters , his masalas are home-made and his bottles of different sauces and dressings come from hypercity ! These dressings include mayonnaise, blue cheese dressing, salsa, pasta sauce, BBQ sauce , sweet onion etc.
Moreover , Rajesh is quite a chatty fellow and will ask you various questions regarding how exactly you want you corn. We tried mayonnaise schezwan and BBQ the last time we went there and relished every bite of it . I personally recommend having the BBQ corn with roasted corn instead of the boiled one so that it gives the perfect smokey flavor .
It’s not too costly and all his dishes range within the range of Rs.20- Rs.70 and the quantity, quality and the taste is worth shelling a Rs.100 note once in a while.

You can go try this delicacy at :
Rajesh Corn Corner, Plot no :196, Road no 3, Jawahar nagar , Goregaon (West).

Scroll down to see the mouth-watering pictures and head to Goregaon to taste this corn while the rain gods are still being good and making us hungry with their showers on and off!!!

SUDAMA SNACKS & JUICES,  GOREGAON WEST
As promised we are here with our very first review . Sudama Snacks & Juices is a small joint in Goregaon (west) in a small lane touching the S.V. Road. With a limited number of tables and a limited menu this place promises good food every time you visit it.
Talking about the speciality….. this place serves one of the best Pav Bhaji’s we have ever tasted and without a blink of our eyes we ordered the same  ( Darlings you can smell their Pav Bhaji right till the end of the road). The Pav Bhaji was a perfect combition of freshly chopped vegetables, loads and loads of butter and perfect amount of spices. Yes !! it’s neither too spicy nor too buttery and all the ingredients are smashed to perfection. And the Pav !!! every bite of this butter-laden bread takes you to nirvana!!!
The next plate on our menu was Manchurian rice. We chose such a combination of pav bhaji and Chinese because we have personally experienced that places serving good pav bhaji usually serves good Chinese and vice versa. And friends , we weren’t wrong . The Manchurian rice tasted divine ( this coming from a foodie who obsesses over indo-chinese cuisine ). The gravy was of a good consistency , neither too thick nor too watery and while eating the rice we could feel the crunchy vegetables indicating the food was freshly cooked. And the best part we did not require any sauces to make the dish taste better. Even the Manchurian balls were well cooked unlike some places where all you can taste is the flour and cabbage without even as much as salt.
And the last part ofcourse was the desert without which Indian meals are always incomplete! We ordered for a Kulfi Falooda and were quite surprised at the quantity of it. Consisting of the falooda sev, kulfi, kesar ice cream and fresh mawa with a dash of rose syrup and pistachios, this dish cannot be eaten by one person alone. Every bite in your mouth gives you foodgasms !!! ( Special trick by Ajeenkya Salvi : take a little of all the 4 main ingredients in your spoon and enjoy this dish ). My only complaint in this dish was if you by anychance finish off the ice cream , kulfi and mawa first , the remaining sev will taste a little bland so I request you to go by Ajeenkya’s advise and eat it as recommended by him !! :p
Coming to the services , the staff is quite efficient and the service pretty fast. You don’t need to wait for long for the staff to come and take your order. Also the place is hygienic. They have an open kitchen which makes it easy for the customers to peep in and see the chefs cooking. Also its easy on the pocket and we had all the above three dishes in Rs.350 only. As a small joint it runs quite efficiently and is often seen full during lunch hours.
We also recommend trying Tawa pulav, American chopsuey, Triple Schezwan Rice and its fresh fruit juices. Scroll down to see the delicious plates .
Until next week!!!…..Keep eating !!!
